Penelope Sharon Jordan was sentenced to a year and a day in prison for keeping her dead mother body for years so she could collect the pension benefits. Over a six year period Penelope Jordan collected $61,415 in Social Security payments and $176,461 from a military pension. Penelope Sharon Jordan claimed that she did not have the money to bury her mother but would later on plead guilty to charges of theft of government funds.
