John Phillips is best remembered as a member of the group The Mamas & the Papas in which he wrote and arranged the majority of their music. John Phillips who was also known as Papa John was married four separate times (Farnaz Arasteh, Geneviève Waïte, Michelle Phillips, Susan Adams) and from these marriages came his children: Jeffrey Phillips, Mackenzie Phillips, Chynna Phillips, Tamerlane Phillips, and Bijou Phillips. Papa John had a very long history with drug addiction that saw him thrown in jail and was a factor in him dying at 65 in 2001. Now with his daughter Mackenzie Phillips announcing in her new book "High On Arrival" that John Phillips had a long term consensual sexual relationship with her.
