Mr Magic whose real name was John Rivas was part of the team at WBLS radio in NYC which was the first all hip hop radio station in the country. Mr Magic is credited for being the inspiration and giving a number of hip hop artist their starts is known to younger fans as being the DJ on Wildstyle the rap channel for the popular game Grand Theft Auto Vice City.
