Taylor Mitchell was hiking in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Nova Scotia Canada when she was attacked by two coyotes and would die from the injuries. Taylor Mitchell was a young up and coming musician who was nominated for the 2009 Canadian Folk Music Award in the Young Performer of the Year category. Coyote attacks are very rare according to experts as the animal tends to fear and stay away from people. A police officer in the vicinity of the coyote attack shot one of the coyotes but it was able to get away. Taylor Mitchell was nineteen.
