Stephanie Birkitt is mixed up in the extortion attempt of David Letterman. Stephanie Birkitt lives with alleged extortionist Robert (Joe) Halderman and apparently it is her diary where she talks about sleeping with David Letterman that led Halderman to the dumb idea of trying to extort the Late Show host. Birkitt would go from being a Letterman producer to being his personal assistant. Apparently the affair between David and Stephanie ended shortly before he married longtime girlfriend Regina and the birth of his son Harry
